Ohana Swim Team is on Summer Break.
Only five days left--Monday, September 8th starts our new year!
Please be prepared to fill out new paperwork for the next season as well as pay your September dues and the new season registration fee. We will have all new packets for everyone as soon as they are ready-here-or have them available at practice.
SWIM..NEW YEAR...WHERE AND WHEN?
Back by popular demand, we are staying at UPS pool! Here's our new swim schedule for the 2008-2009 year:
Monday 6:45-8:00 PM
Tuesday 6:45-8:45 PM
Wednesday 6:45-8:45 PM
Thursday 6:45-8:00 PM
Friday 6:30-8:30 PM
Yes, this means you get ONE MORE HOUR FREE for the same price.
You also get 15 minutes before and after practice to get set in the locker rooms.
The coaches request that anyone ready before practice time sit suited up on the bleachers (i.e. not hovering over other groups practicing).
Please park in the Fieldhouse parking lot. Don't worry--if the workout is especially brutal, there's enough of us to carry you to your car!
MEGAN JENDRICKS SWIM CAMP COMING OCTOBER 11TH...
Want some Olympic Level Training for a tiny fraction of the going rate?
Saturday, October 11th, double-Olympic Gold and silver medalist Megan Jendrick will host an age-group clinic at Kent High School. The clinic will include presentation, question and answer sessions and autograph signing along with in-depth stroke technique work on a four major strokes. Each swimmer will receive an autographed photo of Megan and a SPEEDO swim cap. Get more information here .

Mahalo to the 27 swimmers who participated in the 2008 Swim-a-thon, and Kristine Antilla for leading the charge this year. We will post the numbers when we get them.
Rumors are that the Masters Swimmers made some huge gains this year.
Kristine will be handing out the remaining prizes in September.
OHANA MASTERS AT USMS NATIONALS...We had three Honus at LCM Nationals in Gresham, Oregon last weekend. Slap those flippers together forJane Moore, Kris Speir, and (Allyson) Boomer! Results to follow.

HELP US SELL CARDS AND RAISE MONEY FOR THE OHANA...We are selling cards with discounts for local merchants for our team. They look really cool and are good for one year. If you sell cards over the break, please turn in checks to Liz Jones at the pool when you return.
OHANA MASTERS AT THE ZONES CHAMPIONSHIP MEET:
The Ohana Master Swimmers took FIRST in the medium division, and THIRD overall at the Zones Championship meet last week. Compare that to last years' score of 13th place in the small division, and 26th place overall!
